Today, adhesives such as metal adhesives - for example, for bonding stainless steel - are indispensable as an alternative to traditional joining methods, such as soldering and welding. Metal adhesives have the great advantage that no heat is added into the material, resulting in warping of the structure. In addition, it is possible to bond and join metals such as stainless steel and aluminum with other materials, such as plastics or composites. Adhesives are also very suitable for attaching thin sheets, such as in facade cladding or machine guards.
Types of metal adhesive
Lijmenwinkel.nl supplies a variety of high-quality adhesives suitable for bonding metal, such as stainless steel and aliminium. Some of the types of metal glue we supply include:
Anaerobic adhesive:
Ideal adhesive for securing and sealing threads, fastening cylindrical parts such as ball bearings. Single-component adhesive with a temperature range up to 150°C.
Cyano-acrylate adhesives:
Instant glue or super glue is the more familiar name when talking about cyano-acrylate adhesives. A number of instant adhesives are designed specifically for bonding metal. A characteristic feature of this technology is its rapid curing.
One-component& two-component epoxies:
Both one-component and two-component epoxies are suitable for bonding steel, stainless steel and other metals. The epoxies form a structural bond and are space-filling. Many epoxies are ductile which means the epoxies have good impact strength.
Acrylates (MMA):
Fast, strong and flexible are the core properties of acrylic adhesives. Available in both premix and no-mix systems. Premix are two-component systems in tubes. No-mix systems are two-component systems where the two components are applied separately. Because curing and bonding occurs only once the two components come together, it is possible to bond large areas with rapid curing.
